Controllership Analyst

6 months fixed term employment contract for the duration of a project, with the possibility of remaining within Stanley Black & Decker after this project

The Controllership Analyst will provide support to EU Controllership Team and be involved in all areas of Controllership Operations. This role is principally responsible for driving accounting, reporting and controlling activities, coordinating different parties involved (Shared Service Center, Business & Corp) to ensure timely and accurate financials. Additionally, this role will drive & support transformational initiatives with key focus on supporting SAP reporting in area of General Accounting & Controlling

Responsibilities:

  • Month End Close and Financial Reporting
    • Partnership with Shared Services & Business Unit Controllership Team to ensure all reconciliations are prepared and approved timely. Ensure regular quality reviews and Balance Sheet Reviews are performed
    • Reviewing and recommending journal entries, interpreting and explaining income statement results versus prior year, budget and forecast for SEF Industrial entities or other as needed
    • Ensure Key Reserve updates including are prepared timely and reviewed
    • Ensure that financial reporting processes are in accordance with US GAAP and Stanley Black & Decker financial policies
    • Provide management with weekly, monthly and quarterly financial metrics (KPIs) to assist in driving business results
    • Ensure effective tracking of one off entries
  • Monitor & Maintain Strong Controls
    • Support all aspects of financial management, internal controls, SOX requirements and Stanley Black & Decker
    • Support Audit activities including statutory, USGAAP and internal audits as appropriate
    • Continue to look for improvements in the financial control environment to mitigate against segregation of duties risk, conflict of interest and safeguarding of assets from fraud
    • Support the execution of the Qtly Corporate Control Framework (Flux, QCCC, Balance Sheet Reviews, Complex Account Reviews)
  • Drive Process Improvements Efforts and Coordinate communication between Business and GSS environment

Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years of Accounting/Finance experience in area of General Ledger and / or Controllership
  • Degree in Finance & Banking or Economics
  • SAP knowledge is a must
  • Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA will be an advantage
  • Solid communication in English; additional language will be an advantage
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (for dealing with local Logistics, Purchasing and Sales teams)
  • Strong computing skills; advanced Excel required; experience in using Navision or SAP would be an advantage
